Check out my weekly Mets Geek column, where I make a case for the former Mets on the 2009 Hall of Fame ballot (besides 1st balloter Rickey Henderson). A couple weeks back, I posted about the former Mets who are eligible for the Hall - the actual ballot was released yesterday. Former Mets on the ballot are:
Jay Bell, SS/2B
David Cone, P
Rickey Henderson, OF
Jesse Orosco, P
Mo Vaughn, 1B
In other news, arbitration was not offered to Adam Dunn, Pat Burrell, or Bobby Abreu, meaning if the Mets signed any of these players they would not forfeit draft picks. This should effectively end the Mets' interest in Raul Ibanez.
